Show Some Appreciation

By March 19, 2013 No Comments

Nowadays, your job is routine.  Whether you’ve been working for the same company for 20+ years or just started a week ago, it’s the same thing day by day.

As an employee, you strive to do the best job you can do and perform to the best of your ability.

You’re at work on time every morning, leave on time every night and get all of your work done and more.

Do you ever receive a praise or “thank you” though?

That’s where the manager steps in.

As a manager, talk to each of your employees on a daily basis, give them constructive criticism, and tell them what they’re doing right and wrong just so they know you’re paying attention.

All anyone wants is to be appreciated and acknowledged.  It’s human nature.

Many companies have different programs or perks to show how they value their employees, whether it be an “Employee of the Month” program or a party every month.

But is that enough?

There are mixed reviews on programs showing value to employees, and giving an award to a single employee who may or may not be doing as good or a better job than the rest of the employees.

So show appreciation to your employees often.  Not every once in a while, not on “Employee Appreciation Day” once a year, but as often as you can!

A simple “thank you, great job” goes a long way!
