Syngenta Crop Protection AG: Conselium Places new Compliance Officer in LatAm

Conselium, an executive search firm, has completed a search on behalf of Syngenta Crop Protection AG. Mr. Gustavo Regner began his role of Compliance Officer, LatAm South on October 1, 2013 in their Buenos Aires, Argentina offices.

Mr. Regner’s Responsibilities include:

  • In close collaboration with Regional Compliance Officer-Lat Am set the compliance agenda for all operations in Lat Am South on the embedment of the compliance mind-set and culture
  • Develop and conduct compliance training for employees and 3rd party distributors
  • Partner with the project teams for key investments in LAS and co-ordinate compliance matters in order to achieve project compliance
  • Install a monitoring process to ensure adherence to compliance framework, identify gaps and suggest remediation measures.
  • Develop and conduct a 3rd party due diligence program
  • Actively engage with and contribute to the Compliance and Risk Management Committee
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures are followed to reduce the risks of non-compliance with laws, regulations, etc.
  • Respond to alleged violations of laws, regulations, Code of Conduct, policies, procedures, etc. by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures

Mr. Regner was previously Director of Forensic & Litigation Services for BDO Consulting.

Syngenta wants to plant the seeds of seed technology around the world. The company is at the top of its industry, along with Bayer CropScience and Monsanto, as one of the world’s largest agrochemical businesses. It is a global leader in crop protection products, including insecticides, herbicides, and fungicides. It produces commercial seeds — both traditional and genetically modified — for field crop seeds (soybeans), vegetable seeds (corn, beans, tomatoes), and flowers. The company also offers lawn and garden and public health products. Syngenta has been combining its expertise in crop traits and genetics, seed treatments, and chemicals to offer its customers integrated services.
