We are representing a privately held European based pharmaceutical company with a 135-year record of success in 145 countries. Being privately held facilitates the commitment to pragmatic decision making not influenced by the investment community. They have recently purchased a small commercial biotech in the USA and need to build out their U.S. compliance program. The position of Compliance Director will report to the SVP General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer of NA.

Opportunity the First Year:
• Enhance the existing compliance program in preparation for our second significant product launch that will grow the company exponentially
Responsibilities of Compliance Director:
● Leverage knowledge of industry best practices to ensure all elements of an effective compliance program
● Proactively engage with stakeholders to understand current and future compliance needs
● Conduct annual risk assessments and build annual compliance work plan
● Implement business-oriented policies/procedures to mitigate risk
● Develop and deliver a comprehensive training program
● Manage compliance investigations into alleged violations and oversee corrective actions
● Review and approve HCP engagements, including performing “Fair Market Value” assessments
● Develop audit and monitoring plans
Requirements of Compliance Director:
• Bachelor’s degree is required (advanced degree is a plus)
• Demonstrated experience in the building and/or enhancement of a comprehensive compliance program
• Compliance experience gained from biotechnology, pharmaceutical, management consulting or law firm
• Experience in developing, implementing, monitoring, and/or managing compliance programs
• Strong working knowledge of and high-level of familiarity with the full spectrum of laws, regulations, and industry guidance that affect the pharmaceutical industry
