Responsibilities:
• Reporting to the Senior Director Compliance and managing a team, assists in overall management of
hospital compliance staff and program and serves as a resource and point of contact for compliance matters
• Leads and supervises Compliance Services staff and trains employees for multi-hospital health system to include regulatory, audit, billing, coding, documentation, medical necessity and other general compliance processes
• Ensures adherence to applicable laws, rules, guidelines and regulations; leads compliance meetings that foster open lines of communication within the organization
• Leads, directs and reviews the work of Compliance Services staff; serves as a resource for Compliance Services staff by evaluating performance, providing support and assisting in promotion of professional development, refining methodologies, and improving departmental work products
• Assures the accuracy and timely completion of compliance auditing, investigations and reviews
• Serve as a resource and point of contact for hospital staff, hospital managers/directors, and administration to obtain information or clarification on accurate and ethical billing, coding, audit and documentation standards,
guidelines, and regulatory requirements pertaining to compliance
• Recommends additions and revisions to the Compliance Services Work Plan and other non-work plan program activities to improve effectiveness and mitigate risk; ensures completion of assigned work directly or through
• staff supervision
• Develops and coordinates education and training programs and materials regarding compliance matters; recognizes general and focused training needs and provides feedback from audit findings or other issues identified
• Develops and/or revises policies and procedures and operational processes on compliance subjects; promotes awareness of and compliance with policies and procedures, adhering to the principles of the Code of Conduct
• Follow standard protocols to supervise or conduct audits as needed or assigned; identify aberrant trends in billing, coding, and medical necessity; compares performance and work products with established and recognized norms to identify variations requiring further investigation or action
• Evaluates the extent to which hospital functions are in compliance with applicable rules, communicate audit findings and provide recommendations for improvement or corrective action
• Responds to reported issues and inquiries and Hotline calls; receives and/or manages proper intake and handling of detected and/or reported issues; investigates or supervises investigations for issues; promotes non-retaliation and confidential communications with reported concerns
• Fosters open lines of communication and reporting through key communication forums for compliance matters and concerns; active participation in Committees and meetings, including but not limited to Department meetings
and the Hospital’s Compliance Committee

Qualifications:
• Essential Education: Bachelor’s Degree
• Desirable: Healthcare Compliance Certification, e.g. CHC
• You will bring several years of hospital compliance experience, essentially including CMS, billing and coding compliance experience
