Compliance Officer expectations first 12 months:
- Establish self as a business leader

Compliance Officer Responsibilities:
- Culture of Compliance: Oversee a comprehensive strategy and operational approach to establish a culture of accountability and compliance across all business groups and functions
- Risk Assessment: Oversee the execution of the annual risk assessment and set the strategic direction for Compliance activities based on the risk assessment results
- Risk Mitigation: Coordinate, lead, and/or support risk mitigation activities through strategic advice, policy/procedure support, market-level training, communication campaigns , and monitoring
- Investigations: Collaborate with Investigations to develop and implement interim corrective actions, implement agreed upon programmatic remediation and drive execution of remediation steps related to the Compliance Program
- Governance: Co-chair relevant cross-functional Compliance Committees and/or deliver regular compliance updates; serve as primary Compliance contact for the business
- People Management: Develop and manage compliance support (e.g., by partnering and coordinating cross functionally); leverage the Compliance Champions to further the development and implementation of compliance objectives
- Global Programs: Coordinate with appropriate stakeholders to complete diagnostics and Risk Assessment reviews
- 3rd Party Support: Collaborate with necessary stakeholders to ensure the proper policies and oversight structures are in place to identify and mitigate risks related to third parties
Requirements of Compliance Officer:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree ….. advanced degree preferred
- Language: Business quality English (both written/spoken) and native Portuguese
- Compliance topics: Must have compliance experience that was developed by working for a U.S. or European company – must be knowledgeable on issues of FCPA, Anti-Bribery/Anticorruption; risk management; risk mitigation; 3rd party risk
- Compliance functional experience must include: Code of Conduct, Polices/Procedures, Training, Investigations, Risk Assessments
- Industry experience: require experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device industry
- Soft skills: Must be confident, business focused, partnering mentality, able to shape and influence a culture of integrity
