Expectations first 12 months:
- Assist the Chief Compliance Officer in continuing to build a robust and uniform compliance program across all business units
- Assist in the development of compliance policies, auditing and monitoring processes, and enforcement of compliance requirements
Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer and supporting in ongoing compliance program developments, you will use judgement and critical thinking in order to ensure the business remains in compliance with federal and state laws
- Independently perform scheduled audits from start to finish, conducting unplanned investigations as necessary
- Provide compliance guidance and structured training to personnel
- Answer questions and provide guidance on coding and/or billing issues across all locations
- Work with the Chief Compliance Office and other colleagues to determine appropriate corrective action when necessary
- Monitors and responds to regulatory requests in a timely manner, while keeping Chief Compliance Officer and other key leadership stakeholders informed on ongoing communication and updates
- Represents the Compliance Department on various internal committees as requested
- Planning and completing annual site visits to a variety of national locations, ensuring correct compliance policies and procedures are being adhered to, conducting audits
- Prepare and distribute site visit correspondence to communicate visit findings with appropriate levels of management
- Provide support in the completion of day-to-day operation of the Compliance Program
- Assist in the investigation and monitoring of calls to the Compliance Hotline
- Assist in monitoring and reporting of Compliance Program elements and taking appropriate steps to improve its effectiveness
- Assist in monitoring compliance programs, training and education
- Assist in coordination and maintaining of annual documentation of Compliance Program initiatives
- Perform special assignments and projects as assigned
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree; Advanced Degree (JD or Masters): Desirable
- CHC or CCEP Certification: Desirable
- You should be open to occasional travel as business units open up to more in-person meetings
- Familiarity with healthcare laws, regulations and standards and experience in managing the Seven Elements of a Compliance Program including risk assessment, auditing, including Medicaid and Medicare
