In today’s modern world, many businesses would love to pretend that with everyone being online, they don’t need to recruit. However online advertisements, though cost efficient, won’t be anywhere near as effective at finding the talent you are looking for.
While the mass majority of candidates are registered online, that does not mean they are using their profiles. By means of Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn, a large percentage of users are either only on once in a blue moon or simply use these platforms as a way to stay social; completely avoiding the business aspects.
Although ads on social networks are a good way of finding applicants, so are the tried and true tactics: Conferences, Networking Meets, User Group Meetings, etc. While the electronic realm grows and changes, many characteristics of recruitment stay the same.
