We are representing a biotechnology company in their search for a Senior Director Compliance in the Greater Baltimore area (relocation package available).

Expectations first 12 months:
- Assist the CCO and other members of the Compliance Team successfully implement compliance requirements
- Build relationships with executive team, setting compliance tone and gaining buy-in
- Assist the CCO and management in meeting obligations of ongoing CIA
Responsibilities:
- Reporting directly to the Chief Compliance Officer, who reports to the Board of Directors with dotted line to CEO
- Continue enhancement of compliance program with a focus on creating and implementing an effective compliance program for all activities relating to the CIA, healthcare practitioners, patients and medical affairs
- Partner with functional teams to establish a positive working relationship with respect to compliance initiatives
- Collaborate creatively with stakeholders and provide broad spectrum compliance support
- Institute policies and procedures and ensure related activities are created, adopted, published, and communicated
- Develop, coordinate, and administer effective compliance training programs for all employees
- Ensure that compliance concerns within the organization are being appropriately evaluated, investigated, and resolved
- As applicable develop and implement auditing, monitoring, and reporting programs
- Establish and implement periodic risk assessments, audits, and reporting procedures to identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk
- Respond to alleged violations by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures
- Partner actively with senior executives to instill a strong culture of compliance
- Provide compliance reports and updates on a regular basis, and as directed or requested
- Effectively partner and work with IRO
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree plus advanced degree such as MBA or JD
- Significant experience as a compliance professional (10 plus years) in the life sciences industry, preferably at a pharmaceutical or biotechnology company, preferably with exposure to implementing and operating under a CIA
- At least 7 years of people management experience
- You must demonstrate strong strategic and leadership skills in respect of your compliance exposure
