We are representing an established and expanding healthcare business in their search for a Compliance Officer in Chicago, IL.

Expectations first 12 months:
- Build relationships with executive team and business stakeholders, understanding the business, people and culture
- Conduct enterprise-wide compliance risk assessment to establish key priorities in development of compliance function
- Working with General Counsel, COO and others in implementation and improvement of corporate compliance function, incorporating communication and training to raise profile and awareness of the compliance and ethics function
Responsibilities:
- Leading compliance, ethics and privacy across the business, working directly with company leaders
- Oversee deployment and operation of the corporate compliance function, with on-going support, continuous improvement and process to improve and create a culture of compliance
- Maintaining ongoing awareness of compliance risks and regulatory impacts, developing and implementing strategies to address these risks
- Responsible for ensuring a continued compliance culture throughout the company
- Develop and implement overall policies and procedures at the corporate level to ensure the effective monitoring and oversight of compliance
- Work with company officers, regional directors and branch managers to further develop policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable requirements
- Responsible for enforcing standards of conduct and ethical relationships between the Company and all of the various programs in which it participates for the provision of its services well as its employees
- Responsible for the ensuring legal and ethical conduct throughout the company
- Accountable for developing strategies and innovative processes for ensuring that all areas of the company have a comprehensive understanding of obligations under statutes, regulations, and internal policies relative to healthcare compliance and ethics
- Develop effective compliance training programs in conjunction with Regional Leaders to educate employees on the legal and ethical standards that apply to their jobs; Develop compliance and ethics training to reflect new and forthcoming developments in law and business ethics
- Informs the CEO and the Board of Directors with respect to the state of compliance
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree
- Significant experience as a compliance professional in healthcare or homecare, including exposure to Medicaid compliance
- Demonstrable exposure to building and improving a compliance program, working towards best-in-class
