We are representing a Global Pharmaceutical Company and industry leader in their therapy area. The company was recently spun off from their parent so there is new management and a newly created compliance department. The Regional Compliance Officer LatAm is a newly created position that will report to the Chief Compliance Officer.

First Year Expectations:
- Establish the credibility of the E & C program throughout the region
- Build relationships of trust with key stakeholders so you are included in business decisions
- Conduct risk assessments in the region to establish a baseline
- Use the risk assessments to develop your initial action plan
Regional Compliance Officer LatAm Responsibilities:
- Work with stakeholders to develop, enhance and operationalize critical compliance programs across the region (i.e., monitoring, training, policies, third party compliance)
- Lead in the roll out of such programs with the support of the Program Operations team at Headquarters
- Develop strong working relationships with countries/affiliates within region, working closely with the key stakeholders and the relevant Compliance Liaison
- Work closely with Business Units to ensure the E & C program is in alignment and supports the business
- Identify potential areas of compliance risk and counsel on how to mitigate risk
- Work closely with members of the Global Ethics & Compliance and Internal Audit team in developing relevant risk assessments and ensuing remediation plans
- Investigate reports of alleged non-compliance ensuring that appropriate corrective actions are implemented
- Continue to build out in-country Compliance Liaisons
- Serve as a member of the LATAM Leadership Team and the Global Ethics & Compliance Leadership Team
- Chair and have responsibility for the effective workings of the LATAM Risk & Compliance Committee
Regional Compliance Officer LatAm Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree required …JD or international equivalent preferred
- Industry Experience: In-house experience in pharmaceutical, biotech or medical device
- Technical Experience: Sufficient experience gained through Compliance and/or Legal roles that demonstrates your knowledge of the industry and regulatory risks facing a pharmaceutical company. This would include knowledge of the FCPA and regulations mandated by countries within the region
- Demonstrated experience working with a multi-jurisdictional global compliance program
- Experience successfully identifying and resolving compliance issues quickly and effectively
- Demonstrated ability to in partner with in-country compliance liaisons in support of the E & C program
