Compliance Officer

We are representing an established commercial pharmaceutical company in their search for a Compliance Officer.

Expectations for first twelve months:
• Establish collaborative relationships with board of directors, executives, senior leadership, and operational teams to build trust and rapport and to get to know the nuances of business and operations
• Lead Compliance Committee and Compliance Department
• Conduct company-wide risk assessment and help develop/implement compliance policies, procedures, systems, trainings, and monitoring plans
Responsibilities:
• Report directly to the CEO with dotted line to Board of Directors; close collaboration with General Counsel
• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive compliance program to help ensure that business and personnel comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal requirements, as well as applicable industry guidelines:
o Leading Compliance Committee and Compliance Department
o Conducting annual risk assessments
o Developing, implementing, and refining compliance policies, procedures, systems, trainings, and documentation
o Monitoring compliance and implementing corrective actions as necessary
o Proactively identifying and mitigating existing and emerging compliance risks
o Preparing and overseeing compliance reports and presentations to relevant internal and external stakeholders
o Investigating reports of non-compliance or compliance concerns
o Managing internal and external personnel and resources as necessary to accomplish responsibilities
• Manage state and federal aggregate spend reporting
• Perform additional compliance-related duties/projects as needed or requested
Requirements:
• Essential: Bachelor’s degree; Desirable: Advanced compliance-related degrees and/or certifications a plus
• Significant compliance experience in pharmaceutical field, ideally in senior or executive leadership role
• Prior experience implementing a CIA, working with HHS-OIG, or working with an IRO
• Strong strategic, communication, and leadership skills with ability to work both independently and cross-functionally
• Limited domestic travel (~5-10%) required
