Conselium, an executive search firm, has completed a hire on behalf of Astellas Pharma. Ms. Karen Lowney began her role of Senior Director, Global Compliance & Privacy 4-1-13 in their office in Northbrook, IL.
Ms. Lowney’s Responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement the research and development Compliance Plan applicable to the business, as well as privacy portions of the annual Compliance Plan
- Provide support to Legal with respect to internal and external investigations that are led by Legal and that arise within the business
- Monitor applicable legal and regulatory developments and industry standards to determine compliance trends
- Develop and conduct compliance risk assessments to identify potential compliance risk within the business
- Develop and implement the appropriate training and education programs for the business
- Develop an annual Auditing & Monitoring Plan to assess Compliance performance
- Development, updating and implementation of appropriate policies & procedures
- Participate as a member at Global Compliance meetings
- Serve as the Company’s Privacy Lead, and manage and maintain responsibility for Company privacy matters
Ms. Lowney previously served as Compliance Officer for Cephalon and Schering Plough.
Astellas Pharma US pilots pharma efforts that are really out of this world. The company’s primary products include the antifungal Mycamine, the vascular dilator Andenoscan, enlarged prostate treatment Flomax, and the organ transplant immunosuppressant Prograf.
