Compliance Director Expectations first 12 months:
- Build relationships with key stakeholders to position yourself as a compliance business partner
- Build out your compliance team (head count of 4 is expected near term)
- Identify risks through observation and risk assessment
- Initiate build out of compliance program based on values not rules
Compliance Director Responsibilities:
- Serve as member of the Leadership Team and lead in quarterly compliance updates
- Manages team to create, implement and oversee a robust compliance program including:
- Conducting annual risk assessment;
- Developing policies and procedures;
- Developing effective lines of communications and promote “Tone From the Top”
- Creating and conducting compliance training;
- Creating and implement compliance monitoring;
- Partnering with compliance audit team to develop annual audit plan
- Responding to monitoring and audit results and provide corrective action as needed
Compliance Officer Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required….advanced degree preferred
- Experience in healthcare delivery compliance that demonstrates your development & implementation of an effective compliance program
- Industries we will consider: Healthcare delivery, health plans, consulting, law firm
- Knowledge base: Must understand federal healthcare program laws including Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark, False Claims Act and Civil Monetary Penalty Law
- Reimbursement knowledge: Must be fluent in CMS regulations
- Preferred experience working with Medicare Advantage Plans or Accountable Care Organizations
- Preferred experience dealing with Medicare billing
- Management: Prefer demonstrated track record of managing staff
- Leadership: Confident person with exceptional communication skills that is comfortable in conducting executive briefings and meetings
